Woman, 97, with dementia hit in Leigh care home robbery – BBC News

A 97 -year-old woman with dementia has been attacked and cheated during a break-in at her attend home.

Police said the robbery happened between 04:00 GMT and 07:00 at Bedford Care Home on Battersby Street, Leigh, Wigan.

The victim was considered for minor injuries “but her traumata could have been much worse”, police said.

CCTV footage of the suppose journeying a bicycle near the panorama has been released by police.

Three areas were be divided into during the robbery.

Ch Supt Stuart Ellison, of Greater Manchester Police( GMP ): “How someone could subside so low-grade as to break into a attend dwelling is beyond me.

“We are keen to identify the man in the CCTV … assured journeying a bicycle and carrying a suitcase that we speculate was stolen from one of the rooms.”

He suggested any observers to contact GMP.

Police patrols ought to have stepped up in the area.
